Lem Oxley Dies at Nevada Nursing Home On Mon. Afternoon

Lem H. Oxley, 89, a resident of Story County nearly his entire life, died Monday afternoon at the Gilmore Nursing Home in Nevada where he had been a patient for the past year.

A native of Randolph County, Indiana, he was born to Mr. and Mrs. Hannon Oxley on October 2, 1876. He was married to Miss Elva Hoskins July 3, 1898, who died in 1913, and to Frances Ferguson January 17, 1925. His second wife preceded him in death in 1965.
Survivors include two sons, Owen Oxley of Nevada and Orville Oxley of Minneapolis; four step children, 21 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Delbert.

Funeral services will be held from the Ryan Funeral Home Wednesday afternoon at 2 with the Rev. E. P. Windman officiating. Burial will be in the Woodland Cemetery at Iowa Center.
