DEATHS

Clarence Silas Severseike, son of Faltin and Lena Severseike, was born February 15, 1905 on the same farm he was now operating, east of Garden City, Ia. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at the Stavanger Lutheran Church, Garden City.

He entered the armed forces April 24, 1942 serving as Master Sergeant with Company B of the 334th Engineers Division as construction foreman. He served in the European-African Mid East Theater. He was awarded one service stripe, two bronze stars, the Good Conduct Medal, and the Victory Medal. He was honorably discharged Nov. 6, 1945.

He was united in marriage to Orva Hodnefield, Sept. 25, 1965 by Perry Heller at Zion Lutheran Church. After his marriage, he transferred his membership to the Zion Lutheran Chruch.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Orva; two brothers, Oren of Garden City and Herman of Radcliffe; two sisters, Mayme of Marshalltown and Florence Millang of Story City; two nephews Gary Severseike of New Ulm, Minn., Larry Millang of Phoenix, Ariz., one niece, DeAnn Severseike of Radcliffe; two step-sons, Jerome Hodnefield of Radcliffe and David Hodnefield at home; one step-daughter, Mrs. Clayton (Joan) Omvig of Fort Madison; five grandchildren, numerous other relatives and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, Raymond.

Funeral services were held on Mon., May 2, at the Zion Lutheran Church with Rev. Perry Heller officiating. Vocal music was furnished by Mrs. Robert Friest and Mrs. Ralph Lee singing "Until Then" and "My God and I." Organist was Mrs. Truman Nelson. Burial was in the Garden City cemetery with full military rites.

Pallbearers were Luverne Severseike, Jerome Hodnefield, Gary Severseike, Lyle Knutson, Truman Nelson and Dale Anders.
