THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday February 3, 1921, page 1. "GEORGE E. PRING - Geo. E. Pring, former resident and business man of Maxwell and Nevada, died suddenly at his home in Spirit Lake Friday morning. Mr. Pring had been a sufferer for some time, but of late had apparently been improving. Death came unexpectedly and was a severe shock to the family and friends. Deceased was born in Polk county, Iowa, April 10, 1863, and died at Spirit Lake, Iowa, January 28, 1921, aged fifty-seven years, nine months and eighteen days. On November 10, 1884, he was united in marriage to Miss Minnie B. Oxley, who with two daughters, Mrs. Sylvia Shook and Miss Leona, survive him. For thirty years Mr. Pring has been a member of the Odd Fellows and the Maxwell lodge attended his funeral in a body, six of the members acting as pall bearers. The body was brought to Maxwell Monday and funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church, of which Mr. Pring was a member, at 2:30 o'clock p. m. with interment at Peoria cemetery. The funeral service was conducted by Dr. S. C. Wadding, of Des Moines, formerly pastor here, assisted by Rev. C. E. Lookingbill, of the Brethren church. Aside from the immediate family the following from out of town were present at the funeral: Mrs. O. P. M. Huffman, Mrs. D. C. Bligh and Miss Christine Olson of Woodward, Iowa; Dr. S. C. Wadding and E. J. Morgan of Des Moines; John McWherter, of Clinton, Minn.; J. W. Oxley, of Cogswell, N. D. CARD OF THANKS - We wish to express our sincere thanks and appreciation for the king thoughtfulness and deeds accorded us in our bereavement. May God Bless and keep you is our prayer. Mrs. G. E. Pring, Leona M. Pring and Mr. and Mrs. D. __. Shook."
