Lester D. Doolittle Dies in Story City

Lester D. Doolittle, Story City, died at 12:40 a.m. Wednesday, March 2 at Story City Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient since June 12, 1965. He suffered from multiple sclerosis.

Born Feb. 9, 1900 on a farm south of Story City, he was the son of Ira and Gustie Doolittle. He farmed all his life south and east of Story City until ill health caused him to retire.

Funeral services will be Friday, March 5 at 2 p.m. from the Grace EUB Church in Story City. The Rev. Paul H. Beckman will officiate with burial in the Story City Memorial Cemetery.

Friends may call at Soderstrum-Larson Funeral Home until noon on Friday.

Survivors include his wife Agnes, one son, Hubert and daughter-in-law Joan, three grandchildren - David, John and Lorrie Doolittle, one brother and three sisters - Clarence of Story City, Mrs. Leonard (Irma) Olson of Britt, Mrs. Sherman (Velma) Larson of Roland and Mrs. Harold (Gladys Reece of Belmond.
