DEATHS

MABEL ELISE NEYHART JORY

Mabel Neyhart Jory was born on March 9, 1874 in Janesville, Wisconsin, only daughter of James Clyde Neyhart and Alvina Covert Neyhart. She had one brother, Alvin Eugene Neyhart who preceded her in death in 1941.

At the age of twelve years, her family moved to Canton, South Dakota, where her father was a saddle and harness maker.

On October 10, 1907 she was married to Orville Norman Jory of Maxwell, Iowa, and moved to their Story County farm where she lived until after the death of her husband on May 6, 1944.

She died on January 10, 1966, previous to her ninety-second birthday.

After residing in Des Moines for several years, she moved to the vicinity of Washington, D.C., and lived there for many years. For over three years she has been in a nursing home.

She leaves three daughters: Eleanor Becker, of Palatine, Illinois; Jennie Chambers, of Silver Springs, Maryland; and Norma Fletcher of Ely, Minnesota. She leaves five granddaughter, Patricia Fletcher McDaniel, Lois Eileen Chambers, Julia Becker Cherubini, Beth Becker Berry, Jane Becker Beck, and one grandson, John Charles Becker. Her great grandchildren are three granddaughters and three grandsons.

Interment was at Center Grove Cemetery on January thirteenth.
