DEATHS

Sarah Mitchell See

Sarah Myrtle Mitchell was born in Story County Dec. 24, 1883, departed this life May 5, 1973. She was the daughter of Silas Mitchell and Elizabeth Carr Mitchell.

In December of 1901 she was married to George See at Maxwell, Iowa. Most of her life was lived in Maxwell, Nevada and Colo as Story County farmers except for a few years when she and her husband traveled by covered wagon to Nebraska to homestead. They became discouraged and returned to the Maxwell community to resume farming in Story County.

To this union were born six children, Clarence and George of Nevada, Homer and Willard of Colo, Maude Gardner, Maxwell, Nina Weir, Colo. There were 28 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, mother, all her brothers and sisters and her husband George in 1956, a son Willard of Colo in 1969.

After the death of her husband George, she moved from the farm to Colo and lived there until four years ago when she was unable to maintain her home and came to Nevada to be cared for by her son Clarence See and his wife.

Mrs. See was buried in Woodland Cemetery May 7.
