DEATHS

ALBERT OLSON

Albert Olson, son of Elias and Martha Olson, was born April 1, 1893, south of Jewell, the seventh of eight children.

He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He was a veteran of W W I, and for many years directed the choir and men's chorus of Bethesda Lutheran Church. For several years, Mr. Olson served as mail clerk of the Jewell post office and sold insurance and real estate for the past thirty-three years.

He and his wife, Jennie, moved to Story City in 1967, where he continued his business until his last illness.

Albert married Jennie Gabrielson on August 22, 1921, and to this union were born six children, all of whom survive. Albert passed away on May 8 at Veterans' Hospital in Des Moines. He was a faithful and devoted husband and a loving father and grandfather.

Those left to mourn his passing are his wife, Jennie, two sons, Albert Olson of Belmond and Clifton Olson of Nevada; four daughters, Mrs. Marguerite Folkerts and Mrs. Dorothy Valen of Story City, Mrs. Delores Thorson of Ames, and Mrs. Joan Hanks of Great Falls, Montana, twelve grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and four sisters.

Services were conducted May 11 from Immanuel Lutheran Church in Story City with Pastors C. A. Gisselquist and Olaf Holen officiating. Delbert Quam sang "Den Store Hvide Flok" and "The Peace That My Savior Has Given" accompanied by Mrs. Harold Olson.

Burial was at Evergreen Cemetery in Jewell. Grandsons Gary Folkerts, Larry R. Olson, Keith Folkerts, Steven Valen, Norman Olson and Michael Valen served as pallbearers. Alan Thorson was honorary pallbearer.
