Obituary

MRS. BERTHA KALSEM

Funeral services for Mrs. Bertha Kalsem were held on Wednesday, Nov. 2 at 10 a.m. at Palestine Lutheran Church with Rev. Olaf Holen officiating.

Pallbearers were Robert Egeland, Orval Elliot, Palmer Saveraid, Kenneth Larson, Donald Kalsem and Ole Legvold. Interment was in Lincoln Cemetery at Midvale.

Mrs. Bertha Kalsem was born on Sept. 24, 1884 in Huxley, Ia. to parents John and Bertha Valen. She was married to Faltin Kalsem of March 25, 1914 and was Huxley resident all of her life.

She is survived by three sons, Burnis, Kenneth, and Falton Jr., all of Des Moines, one daughter, Betty of Huxley, one sister, Marie Valen of Slater, eleven grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1955, and a son Palmer.
