Aksel Larsen
May 10, 1910, to July 16, 1993

Aksel Larsen, 83, of rural State Center died of cancer at Mary Greeley Hospital, Ames.

He was born in rural Bradgate to Walter and Margarethe (Rosendal) Larsen who had immigrated from Denmark. He graduated from Bradgate High School in 1928. He married Nellee Eurom on Oct. 9, 1936, at Minerva Wesley Chapel, Minerva. He was a lifetime farmer in the Bradgate, Van Meter and Zearing areas. He came to the Zearing and State Center area in 1951.

Survivors include three sons, Jerol Larsen in Zearing, Jim Larsen of El Toro, Calif., and Jeff Larsen of Nevada, two sisters, Astrid Moore of Mobile, Ala., and Ellen Chinn of Pensacola, Fla.; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Nellee in 1985, his parents, a son Jack Larsen, in 1985; and an infant daughter, Jean, in 1951.

Services were held Monday at the Fredregill Funeral Home, Zearing, with the Rev. Raymond Doser officiating. Interment followed in the Clemons Cemetery.
