THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, June 7, 1962, page 3, column 6. "CLYDE M. OXLEY. - Clyde Morgan Oxley, son of John and Clara Oxley, was born September 27, 1889, in Story County, Iowa. He passed away Sunday morning, June 3, 1962, at the Story county Hospital in Nevada, Iowa. On December 15, 1914, Clyde and Mary Cooper, were married in Des Moines, and to this marriage seven children were born. They moved into their farm home 3 miles east of Maxwell, where they lived for all their married years. Although he was never a member he attended the Peoria Methodist Church quite regularly in his younger years. He was preceded in death by his three sisters and by one son, Robert, and one daughter, Mary Helen. He is survived by his wife; two sons, William Curtis of Des Moines and John R. of Maxwell. Also three daughters, Mrs. Lee Faeiz, Oakland, California, Mrs. Leroy Koder, Des Moines and Mrs. John Moore, Nevada. Also five grandchildren, John Oxley, Des Moines, Stephen and David Faeiz, Oakland, Calif., Marcia and Mary Lou Moore, Nevada. Clyde was a good husband, a loving father, a fond grandfather, and a good neighbor. Funeral services were held at the Cooper Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 5, at 2 p.m., with Rev. Stanley Farmer officiating. Mrs. Madeline Summitt played, "Beyond the Sunset" on the organ. The beautiful floral sprays were in charge of Mrs. Esther Fish and Mrs. Hariett Green. Casket bearers were Dwayne Brown, Arnold Scott, Richard Green, Clair Senter, Keith Meyers and Marold Witmer. Interment was in the Peoria Cemetery."
