THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, June 2, 1902, page 4, column 2. "George Pearson and his partner, John Olson, of Elsworth, Kansas, who were engaged in horse buying, had a large grey** hound which some time ago took the rabbies** and bit Mr. Olson and Mr. Pearson's little house dog. The house dog in turn bit Mrs. Pearson and their little girl. The Pearson family, together with Mr. Olson, went to Chicago for treatment, but arrived to late for the treatment to help Mr. Olson as he died Tuesday." **Editorial note, spelling from the original newspaper article.
