OSCAR BRALAND

Oscar Braland, 82, of Ellsworth died at the Story City Memorial Hospital at 11:45 p.m. Jan. 1. He had been a patient at the hospital for a month.

Born on April 4, 1890 near Story City his parents were Anderes and Mattie Braland.

On Feb. 17, 1927, he married Elizabeth Tjernagel. They farmed in Hamilton County.

Surviving are his wife Elizabeth; two sons, William Braland of Radcliffe and Arnold Braland of Boone, four daughters, Mrs. Victor Scales and Mrs. Deryl Luther, both of Rockford, Ill., Mrs. Lyle Williams of Boone and Mrs. Daniel Reuth of Ames, 23 grandchildren, six great grandchildren, two brothers, Alfred Braland of Jefferson and Amos Braland of Ames and two sisters, Mrs. Herman Ryan of Radcliffe and Mrs. Amos Osmundson of Story City.

Rev. A. J. Bringle will officiate at the funeral services at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Elim Lutheran Church in Randall.

Burial will be in the Mamreland Cemetery.

Soderstrum-Larson Funeral Home is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
