MRS MABEL S THORSON

Mrs. Mabel S. Thoron, 82, of Story City died Wednesday morning at the Story City Bethany Manor, where she lived the past six years.

She was born April 19, 1890, west of Roland to Nels J. and Ellen Nelson. On March 19, 1914, she married Wier Thorson. They resided on a farm near Story City until they entered Bethany Manor.

She is survived by her husband Weir, two sons Joel Thorson of Loveland, Colo., and Vernon Thorson of Sioux Falls, So. Dak., two daughters Mrs. Lawrence (Marjorie) Johnson of Story City and Mrs. Judy Knoche of Worthington, Minn., 12 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two brothers Nelius Nelson of Roland and Clarence Nelson of Kamrar, four sisters Mrs. Alma Pearson of Des Moines, Mrs. Blanche Richie of Des Moines, Mrs. Cora Vangness of Story City and Mrs. Emily Rasmussen of Jewell.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, a sister.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Story City. Rev. C. A. Gisselquist will officiate, with burial in the Story City Municipal Cemetery.

The body will lie in state at Soderstrum-Larson Funeral Home in Story City.
