Harvey N. Upchurch

Services for Harvey N. Upchurch were conducted at the Methodist Church in Colo at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, 1972, by Rev. James Louk and Rev. Charles Lehman.

Organ music was furnished by Mildred Brinkman.

Honorary pallbearers were Ray Weir, Ralph McIntosh and Robert Hopkins. Pallbearers were William Fink, Don Roberts, Lester Jay, Don Wilson, Glen Presnal and Richard Farren.

Flowers were cared for by Mrs. Don Roberts and Mrs. Richard Farren.

Military services were conducted at the cemetery by American Legion Post No 139 of Colo.

Harvey N. Upchurch, 77, died at his home in Colo, Iowa on Dec. 9, 1972 after a lingering illness. He was born in Benton, Ill. on Dec. 16, 1894, the son of John M. and Ida A. Upchurch. He married Otha Stevens of Colo on Aug. 31, 1932.

Surviving are his wife and one son Harlan Noel, daughter in law Marlene, grandson Stephen of Grant City, Mo., two brothers Harry R. of Chariton, Iowa and Charles R. of Nevada, a number nieces, nephews and a wide circle of friends.

Harvey was raised in the Baptist faith.

Following the war he moved to Iowa where he farmed in the Colo community until he retired in 1960 he then moved into Colo where he lived until his death.

Preceding him in death his parents, three sisters and two brothers.
