Area Deaths

MRS SOPHIA M BENSON

A resident of Bethany Manor for the past four years, Mrs. Sophia M. Benson, 85, of Randall died at the Story City Hospital early Saturday morning.

She was born March 12, 1887, near Story City to Torres and Anna Olson.

On July 12, 1911, she married Edwin Benson. They lived in the Randall area all of their married life. Mr. Benson died in 1965.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Elim Lutheran Church at Randall. Rev. A. J. Bringle will officiate and burial will be in the Mt. Olive Cemetery, near Randall.

Survivors include five sons, Walter Benson of McCallsburg, Arnold Benson of Randall, Ernest Benson of Los Angeles, Edwin Benson of Little Rock, Ark. and Orlin Benson of Davenport, 12 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and one brother Arnie Olson of Los Angeles.

Preceding her besides her husband were her parents, one sister and one brother.

Soderstrum-Larson Funeral Home in Story City is in charge of funeral arrangements.
