DEATHS
Mrs. Herbert Nervig
A large number of Slater relatives and friends attended funeral services at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10, at Adams Funeral Home in Ames for Mrs. Herbert Nervig.
The officiating minister was Rev. O. M. Severseike of Bethesda Lutheran Church in Ames.
The soloist, Mrs. Homer O. Olson, sang "Amazing Grace." Mrs. Charles Fullhart was the organist.
Pallbearers were Clark Nervig, Francis Nervig, Jr., Gary Nervig, Wayne Peterson, Allen Orning and Terry Blackburn.
Interment was in the Ames Municipal Cemetery.
Doris Heggem was born May 18, 1909 in Slater and died Nov. 7, 1972 at Mary Greeley Hospital after a year's illness.
Her parents were the late Mr. and Mrs. T. O. Heggem. She grew up in Slater attending the local schools and graduating from Slater High School. She was baptized and confirmed in Bethlehem Lutheran Church here. After moving to Ames she became a member of Bethesda Lutheran Chruch there.
In 1934 she was married to Herbert Nerbig of Slater. After living here two years, they moved to Ames in 1936.
Survivors include her husband Herbert, one daughter, Mrs. Doreen Klingseis of Ames, one son John, also of Ames, two granddaughters, four grandsons, seven sisters, Mrs. Kathryn Ward, Mrs. Loretta Perry, Mrs. Jeannette Henry and Mrs. Tillie Johnson all in California, Mrs. Ruth Harmer of Sedalia, Mo., Mrs. Marjorie Peterson and Mrs. Saide Matthews, both of Ames, nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
