AREA DEATHS
MRS. ALETA WILKENING
Mrs. Chris (Aleta) Wilkening, 80, State Center, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Dull of Marshalltown, Friday evening after an eight-month illness.
Born Aug. 9, 1892, she was the daughter of Clem and Elizabeth Eckhart Pfantz at State Center, where she received he education an grew to womanhood. On Oct. 6, 1915, she was married to Chris Wilkening of State Center, where they have always made their home on a farm west of town.
She was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church and a member of the church ladies' aid.
Preceding her in death were her husband, one sister and four brothers.
Surviving are her daughter and three sons Melvin an Eugene of State Center and Merle of Colo, along with 11 grandchildren. Also surviving are one sister, Mrs. Merle (Leona) McAllister of Marshalltown and two brothers, Walter and Albert Pfantz of State Center.
Services will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in State Center, with Rev. Meimieke officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Marshalltown. Friends may call at the Winsel-Perrin Funeral Home in State Center after 10 a.m. Sunday.
