OTIS SEVDE

Otis Sevde, 81, Roland, died Sunday Oct. 29, at the Iowa University Hospital, Iowa City, where he had been a patient for almost two weeks.

Born on Aug. 20, 1891, his parents were Martin and Ingeborg Sevde.

He married Ruth Grindem on May 6, 1922. They farmed in the Roland community until retiring.

Rev. Howard Lybeck will conduct funeral services at two o'clock on Wednesday afternoon in the Bergen Lutheran Church. Interment will be in the cemetery at Roland.

Survivors include two sons, Lester Sevde of Scranton and Jerry Sevde of Roland, four daughters, Ethyl, Mrs. Robert Burke of LaHarbor, Calif., Lois, Mrs. Ben Durby of Roland, Betty, Mrs. Melvin Sobotka, Ames, and Ruby, Mrs. Charles Matheason of Story City, 21 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one brother Henry Sevde of Ames.

His wife, who died in 1967, his parents, two sons, one daughter and three brothers preceded.

Friends may call at the Soderstrum Funeral Home in Roland.
