DEATHS

Ron Miller

Funeral services for Ron Miller were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4, in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Slater. Rev. A.F. Rau of the United Methodist Church in Coon Rapids, a friend of the Miller family, officiated.

Robert Weeks, soloist sang "How Great Thou Art" and "There'll Be Peace in the Valley" accompanied by the organist, Mrs. Alvin Lund.

Pallbearers were Robert Locker, Max Raines, Vern Hanson, Clifford Carlson, Marlin Klonglan and Jim Lyttle.

Interment was in the Slater Municipal Cemetery.

Ron Miller who was killed in a motorcycle accident on Monday afternoon west of Huxley was born in Webster City Oct. 6, 1931 to Mr. and Mrs. K. W. Miller.

He grew up and attended school in Webster City and took his barber training at the Sioux City Barber College. He started barbering at the Ames Campus Barber Shop and came to Slater to assist the late Roy Cole in his ship about 1960 and started his own.

Before his barbering profession here he served for four years in the United States Navy.

He was united in marraig to Joyce Phillips in 1961.

She and their two sons Mike and Randy survive. Surviving also are his mother of Webster City, two brothers, ---------, Kansas City, Mo. and --------, Knobnoster, Mo. and many other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death was his father.
