AREA DEATHS

WALTER VIRGIL BANFORD*

Funeral services for 75 year old Walter Virgil Banford* of Scottsdale, Ariz. will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the United Methodist Church, Colo. Rev. James Louks will officiate and interment will be in the Colo Cemetery.

The son of John Milton and Ella Bell Davis Banford*, he was born on Sept. 9, 1897 at Russell, Iowa. His father was a former Evangelical Church minister in Colo.

A veteran of the Army Engineers in W W i and in the Air Force in W W II, he was a Ford dealer in Colo and sold his business two different times when he joined the armed services.

He was a member of the Odd Fellow Lodge in Colo, the V F W and the American Legion and was a member of the Scottsdale Presbyterian Church at the time of his death.

Surviving are his wife Isabell, two sons, John of Scottsdale and Larry of Buena Vista, Colo., one daughter, Mrs. Charles Miehsner of Henry, Ill., five grandchildren, three great grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Belle Thompson from Canada and Mrs. Marie Baillie from Des Moines.

Friends and relatives call at the Brouhard Funeral Home in Zearing on Friday afternoon and evening.
