DEATHS

Mrs. Oscar Swenson

Funeral services for Mrs. Oscar (Lena) Swenson were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1, from Bethel Lutheran Church, Story City. Pastor William Gregerson officiated.

Delbert Quinn was soloist and Mrs. Burt Stensland, organist.

Pallbearers were Orlin Stensland, Mervin Stensland, Wallace Stensland, Roger Stensland, Michael Johnson and Michael Swenson.

Interment was in the Mamreland Cemetery near Randall.

Mrs. Swenson was born July 9, 1882 at Dunbar to parents Arnold and Martha Bratteig.

On Feb. 16, 1909, she was united in marriage to Oscar Swenson and they farmed in Hamilton County until 1957 when they moved to Story City.

She died at her home on Aug. 29 at the age of 90 years.

Survivors include her husband, Oscar; four daughters and two sons, Wesley Swenson, Grand Meadow, Minn., Mrs. Edna Stensland, Grundy Center, Mrs. Ardella Eittreim, Radcliffe, Mrs. Gladys Huibach, Iowa Falls, Mrs. Kenneth Johnson an Earl Swenson, both of Story City; 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, one great grandchild, and three brothers and two sisters.
