Former Nevadan dies in Ames, rites on Monday

Hans F. Peterson, 84, a former Nevadan, died Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Riverside Manor in Ames after a long illness.

Mr. Peterson farmed and was in the construction business in the Nevada community since 1933, but had been living with his daughter in Ames for the past eight years.

He was born in Shelby County, Ia. Jan. 11, 1888. He was educated in the Adair and Lorimor High School and a Bible College in Oskaloosa.

He was married to Alice Wiley. Surviving are seven children: George of Ames, Howard of Boone, Robert of Ames, Blanche and Beulah in California, Helen of Ames, and Fern of Washington. His wife preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be at the Calvary United Methodist Church in Ames at 1:30 p.m. Monday. The Rev. E. E. Peters will officiate.

Burial will be in the Ames Cemetery.
