DEATHS

Isabelle Ellingson

Isabelle Risdal Ellingson, daughter of Christian and Hannah Risdal, was born in Benton County near Newhall, Iowa on June 26, 1880. She died early Thursday evening at Memorial Hospital in Story City, March 30, at the age of 91 years, nine months and five days, after having been hospitalized there for ten days.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Trinity Lutheran Church near Norway, Iowa.

On January 24, 1901, she was united in marriage to Lewis Ellington of Norway, Iowa and shortly after their marriage, they moved to a farm 4 1/2 miles northwest of McCallsburg, where their five sons were born.

In 1940, she moved to her home in McCallsburg and resided there until February 25, 1971, when she entered Bethany Manor at Story City.

She leaves five sons, Lloyd of McCallsburg, Chester of Ames, Orville of McCallsburg, Reuben of Roland, and Lowell of McCallsburg; 15 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren, and one brother, C. H. Risdal, of Roland.

She was preceded in death by her husband, who died April 8, 1936; also four brothers and one sister.

Mrs. Ellingson was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Church Women. Mrs. Ellingson was the oldest member of Bethany Congregation.

Services were held Monday April 3, 1972 at the Bethany Lutheran Church in McCallsburg, with Pastor Perry Heller officiating. Pastor M. C. Hegedorn brought the message from Bethany Manor.

Organist was Mrs. Wayne Seydell and soloist was John Johnson, who sang "Rock of Ages" and "How Great Thou Art."

Flowers were cared for by Mrs. Millard Helland and Mrs. Ross Morris.

Casket bearers were Larry Ellingson, Donald Ellingson, Phillip Ellingson, Wayne Ellingson, Paul Ellingson, and Gary Canon.

Interment was at the Roland Cemetery.
