Obituaries

George Caltvedt

Services for George Caltvedt of Waterloo, Iowa were held Monday at 11:00 am at the First Lutheran Church with burial in Garden of Memories.

Mr. Caltvedt died at Allen Memorial Hospital at 5:40 pm Friday of complications of an extended illness.

He was born September 6, 1909 in McCallsburg the son of Iygo [should be Tygo] and Emma Caltvedt. He married Cora Mehus September 9, 1933 in Roland.

He worked for Rath Packing Company as a millright for 33 years before retiring last year.

Survivors are his wife, a son George Charles Winthrop; two daughters, Mrs. Ralph Emerson of Denver and Mrs. Darwin Plung of Hastings, Minnesota, three brothers, Selmer Call of Gary, Indiana, Leonard Caltvedt of McKinney, Texas and John Caltvedt of McCallsburg; and four sisters, Mrs. Harold Elliot of Harlinger, Texas, Mrs. Albert Ausdal, Marshalltown, Mrs. Roy Severson of Jewell and Mrs. Jimmie Stone of Nevada.
