Memorial Services Held Recently For Donald Caltvedt

McCallsburg, June 25--The Memorial services held Sunday afternoon, June 10, at the Bethany Lutheran Church for Myron Donald Caltvedt T-Sgt., Army Air Corps, were largely attended by sympathizing relatives and friends the church being filled to capacity. The church was beautifully decorated with flowers.

There were substantial gifts to the Red Cross, Missions, The Lutheran World Action and towards a baptismal font for the new church to be.

Myron Donald Caltvedt was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Tygo Caltvedt, born April 22, 1922, on a farm near McCallsburg. He was baptized by Rev. Heidal on June 11, 1922, and confirmed by Rev. H. N. Bakke June 28, 1936.

He graduated from the McCallsburg high school and enlisted in the service in the Army Air Corps. He was married to Bonnie Rae Morris, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Morris, June 19, 1943, at Laurel, Miss. She, with the parents, four sisters, Verne, Mrs. Harold Elliott of Minneapolis, Minn., Lula, Mrs. Albert Ausdal of Marshalltown, Emma, Mrs. Roy Severson of Burlington, and Thelma at home and four brothers, Selmer of Gary, Ind., Sigvart, of St. Petersburg, Fla., Theodore, Veterans Hospital at Knoxville, George at Waterloo, Air Corps Sgt. Leonard of South Pacific, Pfc. Johnnie M. P. in the II Philippines, survive him.

Donald had only two more Missions to make and volunteered to make this mission which was considered very dangerous in order to finish the required number so that he might soon be home.

Morris and daughters, Wilma and Fern, Mr. and Mrs. Mervin Morris of Meservey, Mr. and Mrs. Clark Elwell of Nevada, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Christian, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Thompson and Mr. and Mrs. Jake Mein of Roland, Mrs. Fern Moklebust and children, Ames, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Malmin of Des Moines; Mr. and Mrs. Ergan Britson of Marshalltown; Mrs. Wm.
