Philip Nelson, 68, Maxwell Man, Dies

Philip S. Nelson, 68, Rt. 2, Maxwell, died at his home south of Nevada Monday, March 21. He had been in ill health for the past few years and death was attributed to a heart attack.

Born March 2, 1898 in St. Paul, Minn. he was the son of Hans and Thora Nelson. He was a Story County residence nearly all his life; a retired farmer and a member of the Memorial Lutheran Church, Nevada.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby; one son, Marvin R. Nelson of Cambridge; three grandchildren, Stephen Ray, Cynthia Jean and Marilyn Kay Nelson, and one brother, Roy A. Nelson of Bellevue, Washington.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, 1 sister and a son in infancy.

Funeral services will be held from the Memorial Lutheran Church Thursday, March 24 at 2 p.m. The Rev. E. P. Windman will officiate and burial will be in the Nevada Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Ryan Funeral Home, Nevada until noon on Thursday.

A memorial fund will be established.
