LONG - Julia E. Eatwell was born in Dain** county, Wisconsin, December 26, 1861, and died at her home in Mingo, Iowa, September 11, 1925, aged sixty-six years, eight months and fifteen days. At the age of seven years she came to Iowa with her parents, locating on a farm two miles east of Farrar. On September 25, 1877, she was united in marriage to Joseph Gibson. To this union were born three children, the eldest dying in infancy, the others being Mrs. Ola Norton, of Farrar, and Harry E. Gibson, of Maxwell. Her husband passed away March 6, 1889. February 25, 1892, she was united in marriage to Chas. Long, who survives her. To this union were born three children, Mrs. Gertrude Huntrod, of Collins, Mrs. Florence Davis, of Farrar, and one son, Clarence Long, of Farrar. Deceased was converted at a very early age, in what was known as the No. 4 school house, three miles northeast of Farrar, under the pastorate of Rev. Henry Rosenberger. The Methodist Protestant church in this community was organized in this school house, later being merged into and becoming the Farrar class. She has been a devout and very devoted member of this church almost from the time of its organization. Mrs. Long was a model wife, and mother, a splendid neighbor, a sincere friend to all. She lived a consistent, conscientious Christian life, dying as she lived in the Christian faith and with the Christian's hope of a permanent home in the "house of many mansions." Besides her husband and children, who were all present at the time of her death, deceased leaves to mourn their loss, eleven grandchildren, two brothers, Cyrus Eatwell, of Farrar and Albert Eatwell, of Eldora, Iowa, and two sisters, Mrs. James Dunlap, of Farrar, and Mrs. Mary Downey, of Mitchellville; also many other relatives and her friends were al who knew her. "Servant of God, well done; Thy glorious warfare's past The battle's fought, the race is run and thou art crowned at last." Funeral services were conducted from the Farrar M. P. church on Monday afternoon, September 14, in charge of Rev. C. J. Nutt, assisted by the pastor, Rev. C. R. Green. Music for the services was furnished by a group of Maxwell singers under the direction of Geo. W. Olinger. Interment was in the Farrar cemetery. CARD OF THANKS - To all the friends and neighbors, who gave of their kindness and sympathy, during the illness and death of our wife and mother, we extend our most heartfelt thanks and appreciation.
