YAKIMA - Dale Lappier, 81, of Yakima, passed away Monday, May 26, 1997 at Good Samaritan Health Care Center. Dale was born January 12, 1916 at Henry, South Dakota to Ashton and Orfa (Conner) Lappier. He served with the U. S. Army during WWII, and was stationed in Hawaii. Dale married Delia Vasquez on March 12, 1956 in Yakima. The couple made their home in Wapato. Dale worked as a carpenter and then as a bartender at Tiny's Tavern in Wapato for several years, retiring in 1977. Dale and Delia then owned and operated "Mom Pier and Daddy Dales" Day Care in Wapato. In 1992, they retired from the day care and moved to Yakima to live closer to their grandchildren. Dale attended Holy Family Catholic Church. He was a former member of the Wapato American Legion. Survivors include his wife, Delia Lappier of Yakima; two daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Mike Doty of Yakima and Joann and Mark Toms of Selah; three grandchildren, Jennifer and Brian Doty of Yakima and Dustin Toms of Selah; and one sister, Cleo Clark of Yakima. Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Ashton and Orfa Lappier and two brothers, Cecil Lappier and Kenneth Lappier. Viewing will be on Thursday from 9:00 A. M. until 8:00 P.M. at Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home. Graveside funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Friday, May 30, 1997 at West Hills Memorial Park. Those attending should meet at the cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Seattle Childrens Hospital in care of Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home."
