THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, June 7, 1917, page 1. "OBITUARY- Margaret Jane Woten was born November 21, 1836, and departed this life June 3, 1917, at 4:30 a. m., without a murmur or complaint. She was married December 24, 1859, to George Mather. To this union were born three daughters and five sons. Mr. Mather died twenty-five years ago the 27th of May. She lived a widow for a number of years then she was united in marriage to Daniel Lamb who only lived nine months after their marriage. She united with the Church of the Brethren six years ago and ever remained faithful until death called her to come higher. She bore her suffering with all Christian fortitude. All her children were present when death came but two. The children are: George Mather, Sioux City, Iowa; Albert and Thomas Mather, Redfield, South Dakota; Bruce Mather, Des Moines, Iowa; Mrs. Elizabeth Anderson, Albion, Iowa; Mrs. Carrie Troxel, Vinton, Iowa. The funeral was held at the Brethren church Monday afternoon conducted by Rev. Wheeler, of Marshalltown, assisted by Rev. J. K. Eikenberry. Interment was made in the Maxwell cemetery. All the children were present at the funeral excepting Thos. Mather, Mrs. Anderson being accompanied by her two daughters."
