THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, November 5, 1914. "FRANK HILL CALLED EAST BY DEATH OF MOTHER - Mr. and Mrs. Frank W. Hill, of Pasadena, California, arrived in Maxwell Tuesday evening and spent the day (Wednesday) visiting with old friends. The were called to Machanicsville, Iowa, the fore part of last week by the death of Mr. Hill's mother, and after the funeral services they remained for an over Sunday visit at that place. Mr. and Mrs. Hill had quite an adventure on their journey to Iowa; after leaving Pasadena, about 250 miles this side, the rails spread at a switch and every coach left the track with the exception of the observation car which they were fortunate in occupying. This caused a delay of twenty-four hours in their journey."
