Last Rites Here For Everett Smiley
Funeral services for Everett Smiley were held from the Ryan Funeral Home Monday afternoon at 1:30 with the Rev. David Ash officiating.
Mrs. Norman Dobson, organist, played a number of selections throughout the service.
The casket bearers were Dwight Brim, Dwight Ewoldsen, Paul James, Robert Liggett, Ralph Smith and Wilbert Smith.
Burial was in the Woodburn cemetery at Woodburn, Iowa.
Obituary
Everett Malvern Smiley, son of Clyde and Rosabelle Smiley, was born April 10, 1900 in Pottawattamie county and died at the Shady Lawn Nursing Home in Nevada, Iowa, March 8, 1958 at the age of 57 years, 10 moths and 28 days, following a stroke a year ago in February.
He lived in Osceola, Iowa a number of years, before moving to Nevada where he had been a resident for twenty years. He had been a farmer and construction worker.
He was married to Annabelle Ewoldsen of Woodburn April 11, 1920. He is survived by his father, Clyde Smiley of Murray, and by five sisters, Mrs. Fred Ketcham of Osceola, Mrs. Max Cochran of Murray, Mrs. Royal Lamb of Bradford, Mrs. Oliver Cornelison of Grand River, all in Iowa, and Mrs. Wayne Parker of Longmont, Colo.
His mother preceded him in death, Nov. 24, 1957 as did one brother who died in infancy.

Ewoldsen, Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Brimm, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Ewoldsen, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Ewoldsen, Mr. and Mrs. Paul James, Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Ewoldsen, Mrs. Pearl Ewoldsen of Osceola; Ernest Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Otis Webb and Mrs. Daisy Blair of Des Moines.
Also here were Mr. and Mrs. Royal Lamb, three daughters and sons-in-law of Bradford; Mr. and Mrs. Vern Smiley of Boone and several families from Ames.
