Last Rites Held Thursday For Leroy W. Hall

NEVADA--Funeral services for LeRoy hall were held from the Ryan Funeral Home Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the Rev. Donald Gruber officiating.

Miss Beeula Settle, organist, played a number of selections before and after the service.

The casket bearers were Robert Allen, Ronnie Spooner, Reid Veter, Lyle Weeks, Don Williams and Wendell Williams.

Burial was in the Memorial Gardens cemetery south of Ames.

Obituary

Leroy Willmer Hall, son of James and Hannah Hall, was born on a farm east of Maxwell on May 2, 1879. He departed from this life on March 3, 1958 at the Ames Nursing Home, at the age of 78, after a number of years of lingering illness.

On Sept. 4, 1901, he was married to Bertha Ann Glasgow. He lived all his life in Story county with the exception of four years in Carter, Okla.

Nine children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Hall, all of whom are living. Surviving are his three sons, Leon of Nevada, Harold of Colo and Forrest of Los Angeles, Calif. Six daughters Irene, Mrs. Marshall Allen of Ames; Hazel, Mrs. Irvin Williams of Nevada; Helen, Mrs. Claude Spooner of Des Moines; Doris, Mrs. Henry Weeks of New Richmond, Wis.; Kathryn, Mrs. George Mitchell of Rapid City, S. D.; and Margaret, Mrs. Dale Lansdowne of San Diego, Calif.

Also two sisters, Mrs. Alice Wood of Nevada, and Mrs. Mary Carpenter of Spokane, Wash.

Also surviving are 24 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and a host of friends by whom he will be greatly missed and who deeply mourn his passing.
