Rites Held Sunday For T. M. Thompson
Funeral services for Theodore Thompson, 306 I avenue, were held from the Memorial Lutheran church Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the Rev. E. P. Windman officiating.
Two songs, "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Just As I Am" were sung by Otto Hanson accompanied by Mrs. Otto Hanson at the piano.
Leslie Henderson, church organist, played a number of selections before and after the service. The flowers were arranged by Mrs. H. W. Bowers, Mrs. Alta Karges and Miss Helen Bobo.
Casket bearers were Carroll Logan, Richard Logan, Loren Norman, Roy Prescott, Lowell Posegate and Earl Tudor.
Burial was in the Roland cemetery.
Obituary
Theodore Martin Thompson was born on Sept. 13, 1887 at Roland, Iowa, son of the late Rasmus and Christina Thompson.
On Jan. 21, 1914 he was married to Nellie Egeland at Story City, Iowa. To this union were born a son Irving of Nevada, and two daughters, Margaret, Mrs. Burt Duncan of Los Angeles, Calif. and Norma, Mrs. Darrell Taylor of Palmdale, Calif.
Mr. Thompson died on Wednesday morning Feb. 5 in the Story County Hospital at Nevada, where he had been a patient since Jan. 17.
He was a faithful member of the Memorial Lutheran church, Nevada.
He leaves to mourn his death, his wife, a son, Irving, two daughters, Mrs. Burt Duncan and Mrs. Darrell Taylor, five grandchildren, Kenneth, Marlene and Dale Thompson of Nevada and Stephen and Suzanne Taylor of Palmdale, Calif., a brother Silas Thompson of Nevada, and two sisters, Mrs. Tom Prescott of Nevada and Mrs. Al Harvey of Marshalltown.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and sisters in infancy, and brother Clarence Thompson in 1953, and a sister, Mrs. Irene Logan in November 1957.
