ALTHA KNUDTSON [should be KNUTSON]

McCALLSBURG--Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb. 6 at the Zion Lutheran church in Rake for Mrs. Altha Knudtson of Rake, Iowa, with the Rev. Hilmer Mostul officiating.

Casket bearers were Lyle Matson, Carroll Gullord, Lester Julle, Justin Herem, Carl Matheson and Donald Teig.

Organist, Mrs. Roy Anderson, vocalists, Mrs. Elsworth Russ and Orville Erdahl. Burial in the Rake cemetery.

Life Sketch

Altha May, daughter of Dr. Daniel Guy and Sarah Linn Mills was born July 9, 1888 at Maxwell, Iowa and died Feb. 2, 1958 at Naeve Hospital, Albert Lea, Minn. at the age of 70 years. Death was due to a stroke.

When quite young she came to McCallsburg where she attended the school there.

She was united in marriage to Charles Knudtson [should be Knutson] and continued to reside in McCallsburg for several years while Mr. Knudtson operated a creamery. Later they moved to Rake on a farm where Mrs. Knudtson continued to live following the death of her husband.

They were the parents of nine children, one having died in infancy. Surviving are Chester of Ames, Mrs. Andrew Verlo (Stella) of Woden, Lloyd, Julesburg, Colo., Mervin, Bricelyn, George, Albert Lea, Minn., Arthur, Albert Lea, Mrs. James Geiferhart (Lorrene), Fairmount, Minn. and Mrs. Jerry Barnett (Lucille), Iowa City. Also surviving is a brother, Edward Mills of Knoxville.
