SKJOLD B. KILSTOFTE

ROLAND--Funeral services for Skjold B. Kilstofte were held from the Erickson Funeral Home at 1:30 p. m. and from the Bergen Lutheran church at 2:00 p. m. on Tuesday, Jan. 21 with Pastor Allen E. Nelson officiating. Interment was in the Roland cemetery.

Mr. Otto Hanson sang "I Know of a Sleep in Jesus' Name" accompanied by Mrs. Hanson. The Bergen Ladies Triple Trio furnished the music at the chuech, singing two beautiful numbers, "If I Gained the World" and "Softly and Tenderly" with Mrs. Hanson as organist.

Pall bearers were Sam J. Nelson, Sam Rorvig, John Broatbun, John Hovick, John Nelson and Marvin Erickson. There were many floral offerings and a large number of memorial gifts.

Life Sketch

Skjold B. Kilstofte was born to Peder and Lora Kilstofte on May 1, 1899 in Chicago, Ill.

On Feb. 25, 1930, he was united in marriage to Cecelia Rorvig of Roland. In 1931 they moved to the Rorvig homestead east of Roland where they have since lived. After coming to this community Mr. Kilstofte was a member of the Bergen Lutheran church.

Mr. Kilstofte had been ill for the past two years and he died at the age of 58 years, 8 months and 17 days.

He was preceded in death by an infant son Claire, his parents and by three brothers.

Survivors are his wife, Cecelia, two sons, Don of Cedar Falls, and Roy of Roland, a daughter, Myrna of Stratford, a grandson, Gregory Allen Kilstofte of Cedar Falls.

Eight sisters and three brothers also survive. The sisters are Mrs. Henry (Margaret) Anderson of San Jose, Calif., Mrs. R. J. (Hordis) Hunt of Riverdale, Calif., Mrs. George (Gertrude) Headrick of Minneapolis, Minn.; Mrs. Ruth Lundsten of Buffalo, Minn., Mrs. Cletus (Gudrun) Rausch of Howard Lake, Minn., Mrs. J. Avery (Ingeborg) Rush, Amarillo, Tex., Mrs. Ezra (Else) Benz of Topenish, Wash., Mrs. Einer (Marie) Mortensen of Moss Point, Miss.

The three brothers are: Holger of San Antonio, Tex., Frode and Esbern of Wilmington, Calif. Also twenty-two nieces and nephews besides many other relatives and friends.
