Mrs. Thomas' Rites Held Wednesday At Funeral Home

Funeral services for Mrs. Carrie C. Thomas, 80, of Shipley were held Wednesday from Ryan Funeral Home at 2 p. m. with the Rev. David Ash officiating.

Mrs. Harry Sutherland sang two songs, "In the Garden" and "Old Rugged Cross," accompanied by Mrs. Norman Dobson at the organ.

The flowers were cared for by Mrs. Donald Applegate and Mrs. Lloyd W. Jensen.

The casket bearers were Myron Boten, Dale Groomes, Harold Hansen, Lloyd Jensen, Harve Jensen and Verle Williams.

Burial was in Nevada cemetery.

Obituary

Carrie Sophia Anderson was born Sept. 22, 1877 in Story county, Iowa, the eldest child of Peter Anderson and Jensine Jensen. She departed this life at her home Jan. 19, 1958 at 9:30 p. m. at Shipley, Iowa at the age of 80 years, 4 months and 27 days.

On Jan. 22, 1905 she was united in marriage to Will J. Thomas of Nevada, Iowa and to this union were born four sons and one daughter. Two of the sons preceded their mother in death in infancy.

Homer of Nevada, Ray at home and Vivian Jones of Albuquerque, N. M. survive with the husband and father. Two grandsons, two granddaughters, and one sister, Mrs. Emiel Hansen of Nevada also survive, with a host of other relatives and friends.

Among those from a distance for the funeral service were the daughter, Mrs. Vivian Jones and son Gerald of Albuquerque, N. M. Other relatives and friends were present from Ames, Nevada, Radcliffe, Cambridge and Shipley.
