MRS. HOMER DUEA
ROLAND--Funeral services for Mrs. Homer Duea of Ventura, who died of a heart attack Dec. 11 at her home, were held Dec. 14 at the Bergen Lutheran church with the Rev. Allen E. Nelson in charge.
Otto Hanson sang "Behold A Host" and the Bergen Ladies sextet sang "Silent Night," accompanied by Mrs. Otto Hanson. Interment was in the Roland cemetery.
Pallbearers were nephews of the deceased, Gordon and Virgil Woster, McCallsburg, Robert Rasmussen of Roland, Lowell Langland, Sperry, Duane Lloyd of Glenwood and Kenneth Coleman of Ames.
A prayer service was held at the Ward Funeral Home in Clear Lake with the Rev. George Strum officiating.
Life Sketch
Julia S. Woster was born May 8, 1887 to Knute and Gurina Woster on a farm northeast of Roland and died at the age of 70 years.
She attended Drake University, was a soloist and sang in many musical groups and was employed in the Roland Record office for some time.
On May 1, 1913 she was united in marriage to Homer Duea. They farmed in the Roland area for 25 years and lived at Estherville and Sioux Falls, S. D. before they moved to a farm near Ventura in 1954.
Mrs. Duea is survived by her husband, a son, Joseph of Thornton and two daughters Mrs. Vernon Munsen [should be Munson], Story City and Mrs. Richard Dunn of Barchinal. Other survivors are seven grandchildren, four sisters, Mrs. Robert Lloyd, Eagle Grove, Mrs. Lawrence Coleman, Ames, Mrs. Nellie Langland, Ames and Mrs. Anna Mae Rasmussen of Roland.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and three sisters.
