HARLEY A. SCHULER

STATE CENTER -- Funeral services for Harley A. Schuler were held from the St. Johns Lutheran church in State Center with the Rev. W----- S--ndes officiating. Mr. Schuler died in the Story County Hospital following a few years illness.

Mrs. Joe A-------- provided the music. Mrs. Louis ---ta, Mrs. Karl B----son and Mrs. Ferd Westphal had charge of the flowers.

Pallbearers were Gerald Meimann, Leo Tjelmeland, Carl Davis, Louis ----, Dale Weave and Ervin Mc-----. Burial was in the Murphy cemetery.

Life Sketch

Mr. Schuler was born June 27, 1916 to Alvin and Alva [should be Elva} Elliott Schuler. He grew up and received his education in the Fernald community.

He was united in marriage to Phyllis Toot March 26, 1941 at Iowa Falls. They made their home on a farm near McCallsburg until 1952 when they moved to the present from near State Center.

Schuler was a member of the St. Johns Lutheran church.

Survivors are his wife, Phyllis, a daughter, Nancy, three sons, Lynn, Gary and Dean, all at home; also his parents, Alvin Schulers of Nevada; two brothers, the Rev. Ross Schuler of Wright, Minn. and Rex of Nevada; two sisters, Mrs. Dale Kasischke of New Providence and Mrs. Leon Moklebust of Mason City and paternal grandparents, Lottie Elliott of Cambridge.
