OBITUARIES

Phyllis I. Christy
Jan. 2, 1920, to March 16, 2004

Phyllis I. Christy, 84, of Nevada, IA and Harlingen, TX died from complications of pancreatic cancer Tuesday, March 16 in Harlingen, TX.

She was born January 2, 1920 near Fernald, IA to Charles Simpson and Leila (Hardin) Toot. In 1941 she married Harley Schuler. Together they had 4 children. She married Keith Eubank in 1966 and Keith Christy in 1995. Phyllis was preceded in death by her first two husbands, Harley Schuler and Keith Eubank, her parents, 3 brothers and 1 sister.

She is survived by her beloved husband Keith Christy, her 4 children: Lynn Schuler of Calistoga, CA; Gary Schuler of New York City, NY; Nancy Bear of Nevada, IA and Dean Schuler of The Sea Ranch, CA; 3 grandchildren: Matthew Schuler of Ames, IA; Maggie Bear of Nevada, IA and Tracy Bear of Nevada, IA and many step-children, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

Phyllis was a member of the First Methodist Church in Nevada, IA and enjoyed golfing, traveling and her family.

Memorial services were planned at the Sunshine Country Club Estate Community Center in Harlingen, TX for March 24 at 2:00 p.m. A service in Nevada, IA is planned for 2:00 p.m. on April 13 at the First Methodist Church, Nevada, IA. Donations in her memory may be sent to First Methodist Church Building Fund, Nevada, IA of the American Cancer Society.
