Last Rites Held For W. Y. Kinyon

Funeral services for W. Yates Kinyon were held from the Christian Tabernacle Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the Rev. Leonard Franz, assisted by Elder T. E. Nickum officiating.

The Rev. Lewis Malmin of Des Moines sang three songs, "Mansion Over the Hilltop", "Old Rugged Cross," and "Beyond the Sunset" accompanied by Mrs. Richard Benson at the organ.

The casket bearers, all nephews, were Bob Safley, Byron Safley, Neal Kinyon, Ralph Kinyon, Leo Kinyon and Verle Kinyon.

Burial was made in the Memorial Gardens cemetery near Ames.

Obituary

William Yates Kinyon was born Sept. 5, 1902 in Adaza, Iowa, son of William and Hester Kinyon.

He attended elementary school, and was a member of the Christian church in Adaza. The family moved to Fort Dodge for a short time, later moving back to the farm near Ames.

In 1942 his family moved to Nevada, Mr. Kinyon working as a carpenter.

On Dec. 11, 1924 he was united in marriage to Lennis Guess at Lohrville. To this union five daughters were born Mrs. Carroll (Pauline) Pearson of McCallsburg; Mrs. K. S. (Phyllis) Malmin of Madrid, Spain; Mrs. Lloyd (Evelyn) Thompson of Story City; Mrs. Danny (Janet) Hornbacher of Nevada. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren. Also four brothers, Zibe Kinyon of Lohrville, Gene Kinyon of Ames, Clayton Kinyon of Ames and Wayne Kinyon of Cambridge; one sister, Mrs. Dora Pearl of Lohrville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, in infancy and three sisters.
