HARVEY M. McHONE

CAMBRIDGE--Services were held for Harvey M. McHone, Thursday, Aug. 1 at 2 p.m. from the Cambridge United Bible Church with Rev. LeRoy Sargent in charge. Burial was in the Cambridge Cemetery.

Music was furnished by Hazel Lyon, Laura Lyon and Iona Dykstra. Flowers were cared for by Lavonna Cairns and Marjorie Griffith.

Casket bearers were Cliff Myers, Martin Haskins, Maurice Warren, Harry Cairns, Earl Webb and Logan Bibby.

Obituary

Harvey M. McHone son of John and Nettie McHone was born in Elkhart Township, Polk County, Iowa on August 30, 1890 and died at his home in Cambridge July 28, 1957 at the age of 66 yrs., 10 mo. and 28 days.

Harvey was united in marriage to Grace Richardson on September 5, 1914 at Mingo and to this union were born 5 children.

A bone infection kept Mr. McHone from work for a few weeks in January of this year, then he suffered a heart attack April 16th and was taken to the Lutheran Hospital where he spent 3 weeks. Another severe attack took his life at his home July 28th.

He lived his entire life in or near Cambridge. For the past 16 years he worked at Road Maintenance for Story County and several years previous to this for Polk County.

Mr. McHone was a man who loved his home and enjoyed his family and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife and five children, Max McHone of Des Moines, Imogene Kerr of Cambridge, Harvey Junior of Slater, Phyllis Kahler and Richard McHone of Cambridge. Eleven grandchildren, one sister, Mrs Orville Woodman of Maxwell an one brother, Clyde McHone of Minneapolis, Minn. and many other relatives and a host of friends survive.
