BERTHA EMELIA WIER

STORY CITY: Funeral services for Mrs. Harry Wier were held on Monday afternoon, July 29 at 2 p. m. in Immanuel Lutheran church in Story City. A prayer service was held in the Larson Funeral Home at 1:30 p. m.

The Rev. Harold T. Masted officiated and two special numbers were sung by Janet Thorsbakken.

Life Sketch

Mrs. Emelia Wier, aged 67, passed away at the Story City Memeorial Hospital on July 26, 1957.

She was born Bertha Emelia Jacobson, daughter of Jacob O. and Inger Jacobson on May 4, 1890.

Mrs. Wier was baptized and confirmed by Rev. T. T. Heimarck. Her membership was transferred to the Immanuel Lutheran church where she was an active member up to the time of her death.

She was united in marriage to Harry A. Wier on Jan. 9, 1915. To this union were born four children: Donald G. Wier, Pueblo, Colo.; Mrs. Max (Wanda) Dailey and Mrs. George (Avis) Heers, both of Ames. Harrison Allen, another son, died in infancy.

Her husband, Harry, preceded her in death Sept. 2, 1947.

Besides her children she leaves to mourn her death six grandchildren and five sisters: Mrs. Anna Soma, Fairmont, Minn., Mrs. Ira Benson and Mrs. G. E. Rod, both of Story City, Mrs. Martha Larson, Clear Lake and Mrs. Eldon Schoonover, Colo.

Burial was in the Story City Municipal Cemetery.

Pall bearers were Myron Rod, Robert Benson, Gerald Soma, James Shaw, Oscar Stromberg and Darrold Wallace.
