Last Rites For Jessie Stephens-Jackson Held Here

Committal services for Jessie Stevens Jackson, 77, of Muskogee, Okla., former Nevada resident whose death occurred June 14, were held at 3 p. m., Monday afternoon in the family lot in the Nevada cemetery with the Rev. Robert Spencer of the Nevada Central Presbyterian church officiating.

Jessie Stephens Jackson was born in Nevada Dec. 25, 1877, a daughter of T. H. and Frances Stevens.

She attended and graduated from the Nevada schools.

She and her sister Marjorie continued to live in the home place at 1109 Tenth street until after the death of the parents when they moved to Muskogee in 1923.

The father, Thomas H. Stephens came to Nevada the spring of 1857 at the age of nine years, in a covered wagon with his parents, brothers and sisters.

Mrs. Jackson taught eighth grace in the Nevada schools for a number of years. Since being in Muskogee she and her sister have been in the apartment house business.

The body was accompanied to Nevada by a her sister, Miss Marjorie and a friend, Mary Christy.
