Iverson Funeral Services Held Recently In Huxley

HUXLEY Funeral services for Andrew J. Iverson were held Thursday afternoon, Feb. 28th at 2 o'clock in the Palestine Lutheran church following a short prayer service at the home in Huxley.

Rev. Harry Stoutland officiated and Pastor K. C. Grundahl spoke on behalf of the family.

Mrs. Selmer Westwold sang "Safe in the Arms of Jesus" and "God Will Take Care of You" accompanied by Mrs. Noel Larson. Rev. Stoutland also sang a solo.

Casket bearers were Henry Iverson, Ames; Fred Iverson, Williams; John Roe, Hazel, S. Dak.; Howard Smith, Story City; and Gerhard and Alfred Lande of Huxley, all nephews of Mr. Iverson.

Relatives and friends attending from a distance were Pastor and Mrs. K. C. Grundahl, Gordon and Allan of Minneapolis, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. John Roe and Joseph Gjerde of Hazel, So. Dak.; Mr. and Mrs. Donald Anderson of Denton, Kans.; and Mrs. Anna Anderson of Robinon, Kans. A host of relatives and friends also attended from Ames, Story City, Jewell, Williams, Slater, Nevada, Cambridge and Huxley.

Obituary

Andrew J. Iverson, son of John and Britha Iverson was born Jan. 15th, 1868 on the Iverson farm four miles south of Huxley and passed away at his home in Huxley Feb. 25th, 1957 at the age of 89 years, 1 month and 10 days.

He was baptized and confirmed in the Fjeldberg Lutheran church by Pastor Wiese. In 1891 he became a member of the Palestine Lutheran Church of which he was a faithful member until the time of his death.

He was united in marriage to Miss Anna Gronning on April 4th, 1907. To this union two daughters were born, Bessie and Margaret.

He engaged in farming form which he retired in 1940 and moved to Huxley where he spent the remainder of his life.

He leaves to mourn his departure, his daughter Margaret, two grandchildren, Gordon and Allan Grundahl of Minneapolis, Minn., and one sister, Mrs. Carrie Lande of Huxley.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 1951 and his daughter Bessie, Mrs. K. C. Grundahl, in 1938, his parents, two sisters and two brothers.
