THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, March 2, 1910, page 1. "MRS. ROY GOODNOW - The news of the sudden death of Mrs. Roy Goodnow, which occurred Monday evening at 9:30, came as a great surprise and shock to all who knew her. She was taken ill Friday morning with acute appendicitis and continued to grow worse until death came to relieve her intense suffering. Mamie M. Bennethum, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. D. Bennethum, was born May 17, 1876, near Iowa Center, this county, and always made her home in that vicinity. She was married to Roy Goodnow, February 22, 1898. Besides the husband she survived by three daughters, her father, one brother and a half sister, she being but five years of age when her mother died. The funeral will be held this (Thursday) afternoon at 2 o'clock, from the Evangelical church, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Davis, after which the remains will be laid to rest in Woodland cemetery, near the church. The bereaved family have the sympathy of the entire community in their bereavement."
