Obituary.

The funeral of Mrs. H. J. Stombaugh was held at the Methodist church in Nevada Monday afternoon, Rev. J. R. Horswell conducting the service. Mrs. Stombaugh was a native of Tippecanoe county, Indiana. She came to Des Moines in 1855, and her marriage occurred in that city the following year. From 1879 to 1889 her residence was in Kansas; since then it had been in Iowa and for the past two years Story county. Her life closed at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Davids, northeast of town. Her age was nearly sixty-three, and her membership with the M. E. curch dated from 1858. The fatal malady, cancer, had kept her from extensive acquaintance in this vicinity, her spirit was at peace, and the transit from this life a happy release.
