MRS. LUDWIG DEAD; FUNERAL TUESDAY
MOTHER OF COUNTY TREASURER CALLED AFTER LONG ILLNESS
Mrs. Henry Ludwig, 76, mother of County Treasurer G. H. Ludwig, died at the family home at 1204 K avenue, Saturday night at 10:00 after an illness of several months, during which time she had suffered from heart afflictions and other troubles.
The funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 at the Methodist Episcopal church, of which she had been a long and devoted member. Burial will be in the Nevada cemetery by the side of her husband who passed away January 6, 1931.
Mrs. Ludwig, whose maiden name was Julia Koch, was born at Hanover, Germany, May 17, 1858, a daughter of Ferdinand and Louise Koch.
She was married to Henry Ludwig in Germany May 13, 1877 and they came with their family to America in 1889, locating first at Bloomington, Illinois, where they lived until March, 1894, when they came to Story county and located on a farm near McCallsburg.
There they lived until 1915 when they came to Nevada and established their home at 1204 K avenue, where the aged couple celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary on May 13, 1927.
The husband passed away January 6, 1931 and one son Albert, a farmer of near Zearing had preceded the father in death, passing away July 21, 1930.
Three children survive the parents, they being Mrs. Bertha M. Kahrs of Ventura, Iowa, Gustave H. Ludwig at home and Walter W. Ludwig of Boulder, Colorado. She also leaves two grandchildren, Mrs. Fern Hobson of near Zearing and Mrs. Neva Borts of Colo. One brother, George Koch lives at Fargo, N. D.
While Mrs. Ludwick was a woman of the very finest character and devoted to her home and family, she also found time to take an interest in her church and was a neighbor beloved by all who had the privilege of her acquaintance.
Out of respect to the passing of the mother of Treasurer Ludwig who has been so long associated with the county affairs, the various offices of the Story county court house will be closed Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 and remain closed during the hours of the services, thus giving the county officers and their deputies and opportunity to attend the funeral.
