Death of Former Story City Man
Special to the Journal.
Story City, Nov. 10--Thomas Jacobson, 70, a pioneer of Story county who has made his home at Rock Lake, N. D. for thirty years, died Oct. 27 at Cando hospital, N. D., of heart trouble. Two years ago he sold his homestead and came back to Story City. As his health was failing then, he then made his home with Mr. and Mrs. Lew Carr. His sister, Mrs. Emily Carr nursed him then. Later he stayed with his brother Bartle until last August he went back to North Dakota and was again stricken with heart failure Oct. 24 taken to Cando hospital, North Dakota from where he died on Thursday, Oct. 27, 1932.He was born Feb. 16, 1862 on a farm southeast of Story City. He was the third son of Erick and Bertha Jacobson. His parents and one brother and four sisters preceded him; three brothers, two sisters survive him. They are Mrs. Caroline Holm, Roland; John Jacobson, Adrian, N. D.; Mrs. Emily Carr and Bartle Jacobson of Story City, and Martin Jacobson, Winthrop, Minn.
The funeral was held at Cando, N. D. on Sunday, Oct. 30, but none of the local relatives were able to get there for the funeral.
