Obituaries

Marion H. Dobbe

Funeral services for Marion H. Dobbe, 56, of Chillicothe, Mo., who died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 1976 at Columbia, Mo. V. A. Hospital, were held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Canton Lutheran Church at Canton, S.D. with burial at Lutheran Cemetery at Canton.

He was born on Nov. 19, 1919, to parents Sanford and Pearl Dobbe at Huxley, Ia., and was baptized Palestine Lutheran Church at Huxley. His parents moved to Sioux County, Ia. when Marion was 3 years old.

He was confirmed in the Lutheran Church at Canton, S. D. He was married to Helen Timm of Canton, on Feb. 15, 1940.

He was a lineman for the Milwaukee Railroad for over 25 years and also a Veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Helen of Chillicothe, Mo., six daughters Barbara Ann Dobbe of St. Paul, Minn., Sharon Lovro and Debby Dobbe of Sioux Falls, S. D., Vicki Carlson, and Peggy Bunkers of Canton, S.D., and Janice Dobbe of Springfield, Mo.

Six sons, Rolland of Harrisburg, S.D., Jim of Schuyler, Neb., Garry of Ottumwa, Ricky of Sioux Falls, S. D., Steve and Doug of Chillicothe, Mo.; his mother Pearl Dobbe of Huxley, two sisters, Lorraine Richardson of Granada Hills, Calif., Dorothy Ann Lee of Ames, two brothers, Gene Dobbe of Barston, Calif., and Glenn Dobbe of Venice, Calif. and 9 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Sanford in 1969 and a daughter, Patty Jo Graff in 1972.
