Donna Arvilla See
Jan. 26, 1909, to March 16, 1999Donna Arvilla See, 90, of Nevada, died of congestive heart failure Tuesday, March 16, at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines.
She was born Jan. 24, 1909, in Valeria to Wes and Paulina (Stock) Minear. She was a graduate of Maxwell High School and was baptized in the Maxwell Christian Church. She married Clarence E. See on Oct. 26, 1926, in State Center. She was a homemaker and LPN at Story County Hospital. She ws a member of the First Christian Church, Nevada Garden Club and was past president of the Woodland Cemetery Board. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, crocheting and sewing.
Survivors include a son, Willie E. (Bill) See and his wife, Donna, of Nevada; a daughter, Betty Matthews and her husband Bob of Nevada; 11 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; a sister, Dora Kitchen of Nevada; two half-sisters, Marie Zink of Marshalltown and Marjorie Grant of Roseburg, Ore; three half=brothers, Harold Minear of Nevada, Wes (Mation) Minear of Arivaca, Ariz., and Carlo Minear of West Lake Valley, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on July 23, 1980, a brother and a great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 20, at First Christian Church-Disciples of Christ in Nevada with Dr. Fred Danforth officiating. Burial was in the Woodland Cemetery, Iowa Center. Memorial contributions can be made to the Woodland Cemetery Association in Iowa Center. Chet Ryan Mortuary, Nevada, handled arrangements.
